Hey guys, I just read My Side of the Mountain. It is sooooooooo awesome! Sam Gribley is basically fed up with his family. So he runs away and gets a peregrine falcon, makes a fishing line, a knife, a campfire, a house out of an old sequoia tree, deerskin clothes, a turtle-shell lamp, and a bed.
He learns to live in the wild! He has to get through hunting season, when everybody comes to his home with guns, knives, and spears. He finds a deer, shot, but never found. That's how he gets his deerskin clothes, door, and venison. More later! Please respond.
